PT Asia Pancing Indonesia sets MURI Record in Pontianak Catfish Tournament.
To celebrate Pontianak City’s 254th anniversary, PT Asia Pancing Indonesia, under the AXZ brand, held a catfish fishing tournament that broke the MURI record for the most fishing teams. The event was held along the Jawi River canal and attended by Mayor Edi Rusdi Kamtono. Fishermen from Pontianak and beyond took part. The event also featured dance performances from three ethnic groups, adding to the celebration
Johan, CEO of PT Asia Pancing Indonesia, said he was proud that 200 teams joined the tournament, marking a historic moment for the city. Committee member Tirta Kurniawan shared that 3.5 tons of catfish were released to support both fun and environmental benefits. Johan hopes this event will boost Pontianak’s tourism and inspire future community events, strengthening unity and attracting visitors from near and far.
